Reborn
A symbolic musical journey from stagnation in trauma through the healing process. The program features Dominick Argento’s fully-staged opera Miss Havisham’s Wedding Night, Katherine Balch’s these intervals matter, and concert work Gerald Finzi’s Dies Natalis. This event is in fulfillment of a Master’s in Music in Vocal Studies. The performance will be held in Pickman Hall at the Longy School of Music of Bard College on Friday, January 19 at 8pm EST.
The Unknowable
“The Unknowable is a character study into Edna, the ballerina protagonist, who questions her notions of happiness in the face of a dispirited reality and mind-bending musical experience. Dancers and singers ‘communicate’ in a living room setting, but it is not long until the locale transforms as the classical music starts playing on the surround sound speaker system. The show is distinctly one of the 21st century for the 21st century audience.” The performance will be held in the Sanders Theatre inside Memorial Hall at Harvard University on Saturday, February 10 and Sunday, February 11.
